BRISBANE PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER
Location: Brisbane, Australia.
Experience: 36 years
With over 36 years of experience, Glenn Hunt is an accomplished professional photographer specializing in editorial and commercial work in Brisbane, Australia. His early passion for photography was inspired by his uncle, a wedding and portrait photographer, which led him to start his career at a local newspaper in Adelaide Hills. He later worked as a staff photographer for The Australian newspaper in Sydney before starting his freelance career, working for esteemed publications like Good Weekend, The Bulletin, The Australian Financial Review Magazine, and the Weekend Australian Magazine.
In 2000, Hunt became a founding director of Oculi, a collective of visual storytellers that provide a narrative of contemporary life through their award-winning work. During his three-year stay in Adelaide, he also devoted his time to documenting horse culture worldwide as a personal project. He later spent three years in Melbourne working for several magazines, news agencies, and corporate clients.
Hunt then moved to Brisbane in 2006, where he served as the head photographer for Fairfax Media until 2014. Today, Hunt works across the photography spectrum, offering media, corporate, advertising, fashion, portraiture, event, wedding, and sport photography services. Recently, he opened his own photography studio, Black Light Studios, in Brisbane. Hunt’s achievements in the field of photography include winning the Brisbane Portrait Prize and the prestigious Clayton Utz Art Prize.
